A Reminder For Those Prepping For Your Disney Cruise
If you’ve been following along with MickeyBlog then you’ll know that Disney Cruise Line will officially resume cruising on August 9, 2021. However, during these uncertain times there are some new policies and procedures that you’ll want to familiarize yourself with.
We took you through all of them in a previous post but as Disney Cruise is sending out instructions to all those that have booked a sailing, we thought we’d keep you in the know!
The following requirements need to be made before sailing:
- Pre-Trip COVID-19 Testing
- Embarkation COVID-19 Testing
- Travel Insurance
- COVID-19 Vaccination
- Safe Passage Website/Registration
- Online Check-In
- Transfers from OIA to the Port
Please ensure all Guests who are sailing have completed the steps above prior to embarkation. A SeaMail sent to Guests is included below for reference:
There are a lot of details worth a closer look so let’s dive in to make sure that you’re prepared for your upcoming sailing.
Pre-Trip COVID-19 Testing- Guests must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test (paid for at the Guests’ expense) taken between 5 days and 24 hours prior to the sail date.
Embarkation COVID-19 Testing- Guests are required to undergo a rapid PCR COVID-19 test at the terminal prior to boarding. A $65 test fee will be charged to the folio of all Guests 12 years and older.
Travel Insurance – All guests 12 years and older must show proof that you’re covered by a valid travel insurance policy that has at least a minimum of $10,000 per person in medical expenses and $30,000 for emergency medical evacuation. The insurance also MUST NOT have any COVID-19 exclusions. Insurance can still be booked as part of your Disney Cruise Line vacation package but for those that opt to get coverage elsewhere, you will need to provide proof of the insurance policy at the port, showing the name of each of the covered Guest(s) and a description of the coverage in the policy prior to receiving clearance to sail.
COVID-19 Vaccination – Those that are fully vaccinated can provide proof of vaccination to be exempt from pre-trip embarkation and COVID-19 testing along with your travel insurance requirements. However, even IF you are fully vaccinated but you have arrived from an International Destination you WILL be required to undergo rapid PCR COVID-19 testing at the terminal .
Safe Passage By Inspire Diagnostics Website – Prior to sailing, EVERY guest must individually create an accounted associated with your Disney Cruise Line Reservation under the Safe Passage Website. You can access the site here. This is Disney Cruise Line’s third-party partner for COVID-19 testing and vaccination verification. For parents traveling with children, you can use your own account to submit test results on behalf of your children.. For assistance with Safe Passage registration please contact 877.250.5132.
Online Check-In – Guests are also required to complete Online Check-In before you sailing. You will need to submit proof of citizenship documents as well as port arrival documents. All travelers INCLUDING Castaway Club Members will need to select a Port Arrival Time. Guests Arriving before your select arrival time will be asked to return during your appropriate time.
Guests Arriving By Air or Stay at Walt Disney World – For guests with transfers included in your cruise vacation, motorcoach transportation from Orlando International Airport to Port Canaveral will begin at 11:30 on embarkation day. Bus from Walt Disney World will leave approximately at 12:00 noon on embarkation day.
Guests are required to bring a copy of your negative COVID-19 PCR test or vaccination card showing that your final dose was administered at least 14 days before sailing. You’ll also need to show proof of travel insurance.
