Marvel’s Plan for The Black Panther Mantle Potentially Revealed
With the sequel to one of the studio’s greatest characters in danger from unfortunate circumstances, it appears that Marvel’s plan or the Black Panther mantle in Wakanda Forever has been potentially revealed.

Amidst the new heroes joining the fray of the MCU, there is still unmatched anticipation for what Marvel will do with the sequels to many of their existing properties and characters.
One of the most intriguing, unfortunately so, is what the studio will do with the sequel to one of their most beloved franchises; Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

T’Challa himself, Chadwick Boseman, passed away after a four-year battle with cancer; the incredible loss has been felt in every corner of the MCU, yet more specifically, it has been almost unbearable for those who were working alongside the late actor on the Black Panther sequel.
There is much uncertainty as to what Marvel has planned for the sequel; only noting that they will not be recreating Boseman’s T’Challa with CGI.
So if Boseman’s T’Challa is no more in the MCU, the question becomes, how will Marvel address the passing of one of their most important characters, and who will carry on the King’s legacy and mantle of the Black Panther.
Although it is still unclear as to how Marvel will address the impending absence of T’Challa, we may have new insight as to their plan for the title character in the sequel.

Many assumed that the mantle of Black Panther would be inherited to T’Challa’s only sibling; that sibling being Shuri.

Shuri becomes a natural choice, as she has proven to be a capable hero; holding her own against Thanos and his army during the battle at the compound in Avengers Endgame.
Shuri’s only real downside appears to be her lack of experience in leadership; she had never ruled as opposed to T’Challa, who had lived his life preparing to take on the role of King.
Seeing Shuri grow into that role, and be embraced as the new queen of Wakanda would certainly be a sight, but is that Marvel’s plan?
Yahoo.com has reported that Marvel’s plan for the sequel film precisely revolves around the viewer’s strong desire to know who exactly will be taking up the Black Panther mantle.
The report notes that the new Black Panther won’t be revealed in any marketing material, and the journey to the reveal of who that individual actually is will be the primary focus of the film’s narrative.
The report states,
We can share that you should not expect that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will answer immediately who the next Black Panther is. Don’t even expect the marketing materials or any pre-release content to spoil it. Marvel Studios is turning the question of “Who is the next Black Panther?” into an integral part of the story, and it will be a primary storyline in the film. The film will present a few contenders and address a few possibilities, but by the end of the film, you will have a definitive answer as to who the next Black Panther will be.
Fans will have to wait and see if the report is accurate, but regardless, one can hope that Chadwick Boseman receives a send-off befitting a king.
