BREAKING: Pizzafari Finally Reopens in Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Today’s set to be a ROAR-some day, as our favorite safari-themed pizza Quick Service restaurant has finally reopened in Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
MickeyBlog was the first guest back in Pizzafari today. Take a look at all the excitement!
We reported last month that Pizzafari had been announced to reopen in the park today – August 2nd – with some highly-anticipated new menu items on offer.
We can’t wait to try the new dishes and step inside once more, so let’s go!
Look how excited the cast members are to be back at Pizzafari!
Pizzafari has always been a favorite among guests in Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
We love seeing this enthusiasm from Cast Members – it never fails to brighten our morning!
When Walt Disney World first reopened following the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown, Pizzafari had been set up as a mask-free “Relaxation Station”.
Now masks are no longer compulsory for guests to wear outdoors, we’re thrilled to see the restaurant back to its usual, pizza-serving setup.
Here’s the new menu we’ve been so looking forward to sampling – let’s take a closer look…

On the menu board we can see some classic pizza offerings, as well as salads and options for kids. The menu item everyone seems to be talking about today, however, is that Chicken Parmesan sandwich, which we can’t wait to sample later!
Mobile ordering is the way to go at Pizzafari!
Like many Quick Service restaurants across the Disney parks, Pizzafari is operating on a Mobile Order-only system.
The QR code guests can use to access the menu is helpfully displayed on this board outside the restaurant, and Cast Members are on hand with a tablet to help out guests who may be struggling.
Once inside, we were very happy to see all the Cast Members ready and raring to greet guests back to their restaurant. We were also thrilled to be the very first ones inside!
Is there a brighter, more colorful restaurant on Disney property? I doubt it. But for now, it’s time to collect our food!
Food is finally served at Pizzafari after being closed since last March!

First up, we went for the Chicken Parm sandwich, which was served with a Cesar Salad. This item was very popular amongst returning guests.

We also ordered a classic cheese pizza, in true Pizzafari style.
Perhaps the most innovative new item on the menu was this cupcake – can you guess what it is? It’s Spaghetti and Meatball, of course!
Thankfully, this is actually a vanilla cupcake with chocolate chip cannoli filling, smothered in cherry sauce. The ‘spaghetti’ is made from vanilla buttercream, and the ‘meatball’ is actually a chocolate donut.
The cast members were as excited as the guests today!
What a beautiful atmosphere this quick service restaurant has!
As you can see, the restaurant filled up very quickly this morning. Seating was plentiful both inside the restaurant, and outside on those classic butterfly seats.
