Report: Predator Prequel 3/4 Done
The new film has a name, timeline, and plot synopsis…
Did you ever wonder how the “Predator” found Earth in the first place? Sure. Sure. I can’t get enough of the Predator, either.
And soon, we’re gonna get plenty more!
Skull: Coming Soon
The producers of Disney’s Jungle Cruise, who just happened to produce the upcoming Predator prequel, dropped some deets on Collider’s Jeff Sneider.
Spoilers ahead (duh), but stick around if you’re wondering what’s going on. Otherwise, “Get to the choppa!”
Okay, you’re still here, so you probably want to know the top details.
- The working title is “Skull.”
- The human hero is a woman; she is rumored to be Native American.
- It’s a period film. Earlier rumors said the 19th Century, but that was not confirmed by the producers.
- The idea was conceived during the production of the 2018 film, The Predator.
- We could see the new movie next year. It’s said to be 3/4 done filming.
Producer John Davis explained, “It goes back to what made the original Predator movie work.
“It’s the ingenuity of a human being who won’t give up, who’s able to observe and interpret, basically being able to beat a stronger, more powerful, well-armed force.
“Watching dailies, you just understand how [director Dan Trachtenberg’s] vision is completely unique. He’s got his own language, and it’s fresh, and it’s cool, and it’s interesting,” he said.
Bringing the Midthunder
Also exciting was the information spilled by Discussing Film back in May.
We have learned that Amber Midthunder has been cast in 20th Century Studios’ upcoming Predator film, which is about to begin filming in Calgary, Alberta. Sources say that she will play the lead role in the film… We have learned that Amber Midthunder has been cast in 20th Century Studios’ upcoming Predator film, which is about to begin filming in Calgary, Alberta. And while not much else is known, it’s fairly clear that Davis believes in the project.
“I feel like the first one was a wonderful, interesting movie, and I know what worked about it,” said the producer to Collider. “I feel like we kind of never got back there again. We ended up in different places. I think this is a worthy complement to the first one.
“It’s going to be as good.”
Let’s hope so.
Finally, keep it here for all the latest from Skull.
