PHOTOS: Epcot Mechanics Repair Derailed Train Before Guests Eyes!
Just last night we visited Epcot as it launches into the second week of the 2021 Food and Wine Festival.
As we checked out the Festival happenings, I stepped off of the very busy promenade to take a moment of rest doing my favorite thing: watching the miniature trains in Germany!
Just as I was approaching the tiny village, two mechanical engineering Cast Members hastily rushed RIGHT into the middle of the mini town. Clearly in a rush, they headed straight for one of the trains that had stopped along the track and managed to derail itself.
Instead of taking the train out of the show scene for backstage repairs, the CM’s decided to make the repair right before the eyes of dozens of curious guests! Since Disney usually prefers to take attractions or show scenes offline to fix them, this was a really unique thing to see!
To make the speedy repair, one Mechanical CM manipulated the engine’s wiring back into place.
His partner operated a remote control that controlled the train’s internal lights and electrical systems.

Admiring their work!
Within less than 3 minutes, the two super speedy Cast Members had the train chugging along the tracks of the Germany Pavilion railways once again!
At sunset, the newly repaired train shone its lights brightly as it proudly paraded around the grounds with the other trains.
