Grogu Comic-Con Poster Alludes to Lightsaber Status
Although the release of Season 3 of “The Mandalorian” is still a long time away on a streaming service far, far away, everyone’s favorite little green Jedi has managed to hyperspace jump back into our heart (and, perhaps, to acquire a lightsaber).

An officially licensed poster titled “Size Matters Not” and commissioned for Comic-Con@Home depicts Grogu and Luke Skywalker constructing a lightsaber. The poster was created by Star Wars cover artist Russell Walks. Walks previously created several Star Wars books and comics.
Hey! Here’s the new Luke and Grogu piece I created for my pals @intltrends It’s called “Size Matters Not”. Man, you guys, I feel so lucky to be able to play in such a wonderful galactic sandbox. #starwars #TheMandalorian #grogu #LukeSkywalker pic.twitter.com/b8oIjtDHLM

While any official photo containing Luke and Grogu would be big news, the piece also indicates the color of Grogu’s lightsaber: Yellow. This is an interesting choice given the relative scarcity of this color.

The only film appearance of this color was Rey’s staff-constructed saber at the end of “The Rise of Skywalker.” However, before that, there isn’t much history for this color.

There were flashbacks in “Star Wars: Rebels” showing the Jedi Temple Guards with yellow lightsabers. Possible non-canon descriptions of Yaddle’s saber (the only other known Yoda species in Star Wars) also exist. Ashoka Tano briefly yields a yellow saber alongside her standard green weapon before changing to her even more-unique white pair.

The picture also shows all the components of the lightsaber, making it a perfect companion to the probable addition of Grogu’s lightsaber to Savi’s Workshop. Savi’s Workshop offers an immersive lightsaber-building experience at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The land exists both at Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland park.
The surprise union of Grogu and Luke Skywalker will continue to be explored in Season 3 releasing on Disney+ in early 2022. However, fans will get to go behind the scenes of their first meeting on August 25th with “Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian, Making of the Season 2 Finale.”
This special will document the amazing scene as well as show how much involvement Mark Hamill actually had in providing his likeness. Until then, we can bask in the yellow glow depicting and important step in Grogu’s training.
