Cirque Du Soleil is Hiring! Drawn to Life Needs Sales Help!
Good news out of Orlando (and Montreal) – Cirque Du Soleil is hiring a Sales Coordinator for Drawn to Life
Firstly, this morning, a particular historical quote comes to mind:
The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated...”
Mark Twain upon reading his obituary
What do you mean?
To clarify, everyone wondering what The Walt Disney Company might do with the “former” Cirque du Soleil “La Nouba” building need not wonder anymore.
Secondly, further proof that “Cirque” will soon return comes in the guise of another job posting from the official Cirque du Soleil site.
Cirque du Soleil continues to Hire
Furthermore, this post reads:
- Are you ready for a big leap? The last few months have been a real series of acrobatics and contortions for Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group…
- Our hearts are still pounding at the thought of rebuilding our company and dreaming of its wonderful future…
- The Sales Coordinator will be responsible for providing support for all sales activity as directed by the Senior Sales Manager. You will contribute to ensuring the highest degree of customer service and efficiency in an overall effort to maximize sales.
Certainly, as late as April, there was worry that, after 19 years of operation, “Cirque du Soleil” would never return to Walt Disney World thanks to the company’s precarious financial position.
Cirque on a Comeback
On April 21, 2021, the LA Times’ Lisa Fung posted:
Cirque is also working on setting a new opening date for “Drawn to Life,” its collaboration with Disney that was set to open in Orlando, Fla., last year. “It’s a tribute to Disney animation, and we felt honored to have the opportunity to do a show with the IP [intellectual property] of Disney,” Lamarre said. “We should be able to open sometime in the fall.”
Altogether, we’ve been following developments regarding Cirque du Soleil in Walt Disney World since Holly Ramey posted updates in 2019.
Back in 2020
Back in December 2020, MickeyBlog.com posted:
I am excited to announce the name for the new Cirque du Soleil show coming to Disney Springs has been released. The much-anticipated show will be called “Drawn to Life!”
Per Disney, “This new show follows the story of Julie, a courageous and determined girl who discovers an unexpected gift left by her late father: an unfinished animation piece…”
But the show never got off the ground, as the first performances for April 2020 were canceled.
Finally, keep it here as we monitor a developing situation!
