Disney’s Contemporary Resort Exterior Scrims Removed as Refurbishment Continues
An exciting refurbishment update has come from Disney’s Contemporary Resort as the work on the opening day resort continues.
Refurbishments began in April of this year for the resort, and are being done to transfer all guest rooms to be themed around Pixar’s The Incredibles.
We can now confirm that the scrims that have been blocking some of the balconies of Disney’s Contemporary Resort facing the Seven Seas Lagoon have been removed.
These scrims have been an eyesore for guests traveling to and from the TTC to the Magic Kingdom and various resorts via complimentary boat transportation.
They could even be seen all the way across the lagoon from Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.
Refurbishment Across Disney’s Contemporary Resort
The removal of these scrims is a promising sign that the refurbishment is currently on schedule and will be completed by the announced date of September 2021, just in time for Walt Disney World’s 50th-anniversary celebration.
The lobby is also undergoing refurbishment currently, although guests can still access all of the same help as usual on the second floor.
The area will feature modern art pieces as well as behind-the-scenes photographs of the resort.
The refurbishment is extending to all over the resort, as The Wave recently closed last week for a reimagining also- although it is currently unknown if The Incredibles theme will extend to the restaurant also.
Disney unveiled a sneak peek at the newly themed rooms, which combine sleek style with understated Disney touches.
