Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto is NOW OPEN and MickeyBlog is There!
What a fantastic, tropical-filled day it’s been! MickeyBlog has been hanging out at the Polynesian Village Resort where the new guest rooms are open, guests are back and things are returning back to normal!
It was announced that Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto would reopen as of today so Greg and Elyssa decided to stick around and be among the first inside!
Word got out pretty quickly about the reopening and crowds started to arrive hours ahead of time.
As the line continued to grow, Trader Sam’s did decide to implement a virtual queue.
Thankfully we got in the line nice and early.
We signed up for the queue and had about an 80 minute wait before we got our notification that the tiki-inspired lounge was opening. As we were arriving a cast member informed us that there was a 5 hour wait to get into Trader Sam’s this afternoon.
We cannot tell you how wonderful it was to be back at Trader Sam’s. Just check out the ambiance in our video above.
We love all of the details you’ll find at Trader Sam’s many of which give a tip of the hat to Adventureland attractions.
There are new details that we discover every time we visit!
The bartenders were happy to be back and even gave us a big thumbs up!
We’re pleased to announce that the menu remains largely unchanged. That means you’re likely to find your favorite drinks still available.
If you’ve never been to Trader Sam’s before, all we can say is that it’s pretty theatrical!
The drinks feature adventurous details, glow cubes and some even come with souvenir tiki mugs so that you can take the magic home with you.
Also choose your cocktail wisely as your choice of libation may impact the environment around you. Some might even anger the tiki gods.
We had an opportunity to try out a few of the drinks on offer and they are as delicious as ever.
We thought we’d start things off with the Uh-oa. It’s the perfect drink for sharing and is a delicious combination of Plantation Original Dark Rum, Bacardi Superior Rum, Orange, Passion Fruit, Guava, Pineapple, and Grapefruit Juices, Falernum, Cinnamon, and fresh Lime Juice. Recommended for Two or more Guests. Available in a Souvenir Mug.
Another favorite of ours is the Hippopotomai-Tai!
This drink can be ordered in this cute souvenir mug.
The drink includes Plantation Original Dark Rum, Bacardi Superior Rum, Bols Orange Curacao, Orgeat, Organic Agave Nectar, and fresh lime juice.
Next up is another Trader Sam’s favorite.
It’s the Zombie (which has had a bit of a name change) but you’ll still find the same awesome ingredients.
The drink features Gosling’s 151 Black Seal Rum, Appleton Rum Estate 8yr Reserve, Bacardi Reserva Ocho Rum, Tropical Juices, Falernum, and Cinnamon.
You can even take this zombie head mug home with you for an additional $28.
The only thing that could our visit even more delightful is spending it with our awesome Disney friends!
