Step Inside NEW Moana-Themed Rooms at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
Good morning Disney friends! MickeyBlog is coming to you LIVE! from Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort this morning where we’ve been given a first look at the new Moana-themed guest rooms at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
Part of the Polynesian’s refurbishment which includes a brand new porte cochere and new mid-century modern details in the lobby, these rooms do not disappoint and really make you feel like you’re on a Polynesian island adventure. Let’s take a closer look:
We’re heading over to the Fiji building to take a look at one of the rooms.
The guest rooms officially open to the public today with guests checking in this afternoon!
We’re popping into room 3320 which is a King Bed room to check out the new decor, furnishings and overall theming!
Inside each guest room you’ll find a tropical paradise featuring fun details everywhere you look.
We love the shift to wooden floors with a pattern that gives a nod to Polynesian’s A-frame architecture.
Everything has been upgraded in these rooms and we were taken with how they strike the perfect balance between tropical and Mid-Century Modern.
Ornate headboards feature wooden carvings.
The rooms seemingly come alive with color, textures and rich Polynesian patterns!
Raised beds are perfect for storing your suitcases underneath!
Check out how fun the new coffee station are. The now features colorful tropical blooms and you can even see Heihei the loveable rooster from Moana!
You’ll also find some shelving in this handy little nook.
With what we assume is the fridge underneath!
One of the walls in the room features a print done in the Moana style and they even feature a character or two. Can you see Maui?
Lights in the room pair perfectly with the wallpaper and flooring and also feature Moana and friends! Beautiful contrasting purple pillows, blue chairs and rich textiles add bold pops of color!
The ceiling light offers bold details and will tie into the hallway decor which we’ll share with you shortly!
It’s all about attention to detail in these rooms ant tables not feature granite countertops.
Lining the entryway is a closet now featuring Polynesian prints on the individual panels.
In this room we had a split bath with tile flooring and a double vanity.
The toilet sits on one side.
The shower is on the other side.
Here’s a look at the shower tiles in the newly designed bathroom even the tiles in the shower. give us definite Maui vibes!

The retheming would also appear to extend beyond the guest rooms. The walls, carpeting and lighting in the hallways have also been given an update to tie in with the new theming!
Along the walkways, you’ll find colorful and ornate decorative panels around some of the lighting fixtures.
These panels feature volcanos, waves, tropical blooms and more.
And if you look closely, you may see a Disney friend or two! Hi Heihei!
Other lighting fixtures feature subtle details
Contrasted with bold Polynesian prints.
We’re also pretty smitten with the carpet.
In the pattern you’ll see colorful tropical plants in bold hues shifting into richer earth tones!
