Top 5 Things to Do at Disney on a Rainy Day
While Orlando is known for its sunny days and beautiful weather, you are bound to encounter some rainy days and thunderstorms if you are visiting this time of year!
But no need to let that dampen your vacation fun! Grab your poncho and read on to discover the top 5 things to do at Disney on a rainy day!
#5 Monorail Hop
One of my favorite things to do on a gloomy, rainy day is hop on a monorail and explore the three monorail resorts: Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
Each resort is uniquely themed and truly its own destination. Character sightings, dining, and shopping are available at each of the resorts and offer a perfect break from a rainy day.
I love grabbing a Dole Whip at the Pineapple Lanai in the Polynesian when waiting out a storm!
Or exploring the unique soaps and lotions at Basin in the Grand Floridian!
If I’m hungry, I’ll head over to the Contemporary, where I can grab some American cuisine at Wave or some yummy bites at Contempo Cafe!
4 Catch an Indoor Show
Just because it’s raining doesn’t mean the entire park shuts down! Disney has some incredible indoor shows that provide great entertainment and a fun way to wait out the rain!
Mickey’s PhilharMagic, the Tiki Room, and the Country Bear Jamboree are all great indoor attractions at the Magic Kingdom!
You can escape the elements and become an honorary bug at Animal Kingdom’s 4D adventure, It’s Tough to Be a Bug!
Or immerse your senses in the Broadway-style show, Festival of the Lion King. Revel in 30 minutes of song, dance, and puppetry that bring the classic movie to life!
Muppet Vision 3D is so much fun and my favorite indoor attraction at Hollywood Studios! Relax in a replica of the classic Muppet Theater and enjoy a 3D adventure featuring your favorite Muppet characters!
#3 Grab Some Grub
Now is the perfect time to grab some food and take a break! Rainy days (especially all day rainy days) mean plans change and cancellations pop up! Check for last minute openings at your favorite dining experiences!
#2 AMC Theater
Dinner and a movie have a whole new meaning at this state-of-the-art theater located in Disney Springs. It offers an excellent selection of current films and a great way to escape the weather!
Reserved seating, Dine-in options, and the MacGuffins Bar elevates this from your average movie experience!
#1 Splitsville
Enjoy luxury bowling located in the heart of Disney Springs! This 50,000 square foot bowling alley features 30 lanes, billiards, bars, and live entertainment.
Splitsville also features a unique menu of fun cocktails and an upscale twist on traditional “alley” food! It is the perfect way to spend a rainy afternoon!
