Currently in previews, “Free Guy” continues to receive ample praise, at least according to the posts that Reynolds continues to share on social media.
“Free Guy” chronicles the journey of Guy, an NPC (non-player character) in a video game. As a pre-programmed ordinary non-main character, Guy eventually realizes his lack of importance in the game world. He seeks to change his role in the game, and of course, Reynold’s typical antics enuse.

Guy creates chaos within the world of the game inadvertently and discovers his own self as those playing the game notice his persona. The film hits theatres August 13th in a release delayed by at least a year due to the coronavirus.

With Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox earlier this year, fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe also look forward to Reynolds joining that version of the Marvel timeline. Marvel President Kevin Feige confirmed that Deadpool will join the MCU eventually, though in a completely different form.

Deadpool brings a unique character to Marvel due to his obsession with breaking the 4th wall during films. As a anti-hero, he essentially cannot die because he can regenerate body parts. Initially appearing in his own titled film, “Deadpool,” in 2016, Reynold’s character also received a seqeul. The character appeared in Marvel comics dating all the way back to 1991, created by artist writer Rob Liefeld.
“Deadpool 3” has been confirmed with a rumored release date of 2023, so stay tuned for more on that!
