Mark Hamill Honors Carrie Fishers Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame
Two of the tent pole actors of the Star Wars franchise, who had major parts in developing two of the most beloved characters the series had ever seen, fans were treated with a glimpse at their one of a kind relationship as Mark Hamill Honors Carrie Fishers Star On Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Mark Hamill was a lesser-known actor when he got the call to join a young, renegade filmmaker in the development of his life’s passion project; a space opera about the constant warring of good and evil, generational patterns, and the discovery of ones own destiny.
Over four decades later, and Mark Hamill is known by many for the role that has defined his entire career. Luke Skywalker was beloved by fans; as was the entire cast of the first film.
Among that cast, was maybe Hollywood’s true Maverick. A character of a performer and human being that the world has never seen; a personality so unique and charismatic that the world will never be met with the light of such a spellbinding shooting star again; Carrie Fisher.
Carrie Fisher, like Hamill, has become synonymous with her character in that space opera; except Fishers Leia Amidala has perhaps had the greatest influence on pop culture and mainstream media’s perception of what it means to be a woman on screen.
She wasn’t the first strong female lead who was equal parts beauty, smarts, and undeniable strength, and she certainly won’t be the last; but very few have been as iconic and widely beloved.
This December will mark 5 years since Carrie Fishers passing in 2016, and fans have celebrated her work and contribution to the cinema every year since; it is this year, however, that is a little more special, and why Mark Hamill specifically brought notice of the special event on his Twitter.
I congratulate & salute all 38 new #HollywoodWalkOfFame honorees-Welcome to the neighborhood!

Mark Hamill honors Carrie Fishers star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, with the five-year grace period for those who gain a star posthumously finally passing, Fisher will join a loaded 2022 class that features names like Disney’s Ming-Na Wen, Ewan McGregor, and Tessa Thompson.
For someone so unique and so impactful, her star is long overdue, and her legacy will continue to live on; forever in this world, and forever in the Galaxy far far away.
