A Tweens Guide to a Magical Day at EPCOT

I have been on a crusade the past several years to let everyone know that EPCOT is not just for adults. In addition to it being the favorite park for my 4 and 7 year olds, EPCOT is a popular destination for children of all ages – including those hard to please tweens!

And, there is even more magic on hand at EPCOT for tweens and their families and friends over the next few months with the return of “EPCOT Forever” on July 1 and the opening of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure on October 1!

Let’s take a closer look on what’s in store for tweens when they spend a day in EPCOT.

First Steps Into EPCOT

The magic of EPCOT starts right when you arrive at the Park’s main entrance when the iconic Spaceship Earth comes into view. Make sure to grab the whole family to snap a picture and get ready for a day of fun, adventure, and amazing food!

EPCOT Attractions

There’s no doubt about it. When it comes to attractions that tweens will love, EPCOT is the place to be! From an attraction that will blast you off to outer space that includes a simulated NASA-style launch on Mission: SPACE to a high-flying tour of the world on Soarin, there’s never a dull moment when you spend the day in this park.

Pro Tip: If you are looking for an experience that has been said to be as close to what real-life astronauts experience when they blast off on a space shuttle, choose the ORANGE option on Mission: SPACE. But, if you are looking for something a tad bit calmer and not as extreme, GREEN is the way to go.

And, a trip to EPCOT is never complete without a 65 mph spin around Test Track so don’t forget to add that to you must-dos! I always try to hit this one up first thing in the morning at rope drop for the shortest lines.

Get More Social Media “Likes” with Amazing Photo Ops

If your tween is looking to rake up those “likes” on their social media accounts, a trip around the World Showcase is a must.

Ask the kids to say cheese as they snap a photo in the iconic phone booths in the United Kingdom Pavilion. Or, why not pose with Remy in the background in the France Pavilion.

Treat Yourself to Great Food and Beverages

Speaking of the France Pavilion, not only will Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure be opening on October 1 as the “World’s Most Magical Celebration” kicks off for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary, so will another dining option in the Pavilion – La Crêperie de Paris.

Once open, La Crêperie de Paris will offer Guests visiting EPCOT both quick service and table service dining options that feature some delicious French food options.

See Your Favorite Disney Characters

I don’t care how old you are, I still get way too excited when I see Mickey, his pals, and all the Disney Princesses. That’s why tweens and adults alike should always be on the lookout for a visit from their favorite Disney characters.

Mickey and Minnie have recently been making appearances in Future World near Spaceship Earth while Anna and Elsa have been known to pop up near their attraction, Frozen Ever After, in the Norway Pavilion. Also, be sure to keep an eye out for those character cavalcades that go through the World Showcase!
