Jeff Vahle Announces Mickey And Minnie Statues For 50th
The gold statues will be dedicated to Disney World’s Cast Members past, present, and future…
As part of their 50th-anniversary celebration announcements on Tuesday morning via GMA, Walt Disney World President Jeff Vahle announced a special installation.
“Here come the “Disney Fab 50!” wrote Vahle on Instagram. “50 characters sculpted in gold will appear at Walt Disney World later this year as part of The World’s Most Magical Celebration.”
“Two of them – the statues of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse – will be dedicated to our Cast Members past, present, and future,” added the WDW boss. “After all, our Cast (along with Mickey and Minnie) are truly the heart of the celebration! Here’s a sneak peek of the work in progress.”
Notice, Minnie Mouse looks to have the same kind of sculpting as the “Sharing the Magic” statue created by Blaine Gibson.
Of course, Roy joins Minnie in the classic statue on Main Street.
Minnie’s eyes look almost like exact replicas in the new piece. Meanwhile, Mr. Gibson also sculpted “Partners.”
And the new Mickey seems to have that same look for his buttons, belly, and mouth.
Hopefully, these new statues become as beloved as the remembrances to the Disney brothers.
More Than Just Statues
Meanwhile, Vahle added:
Other 50th news that we shared today are the “Disney Enchantment” and “Harmonious” nighttime spectaculars debuting October 1, the “Disney KiteTails” daytime show and more. You can find details on [Disney Parks Blog]. I am looking forward to celebrating our 50 years with all of you.
