Morocco Fountains Work Progressing at EPCOT
The Morroco pavillion upgrades continue to redefine the vibrant cultural space. Today, MickeyBloggers got a glimpse at work on the incredible fountains.
The intricate tiling work in blues, oranges, teals and reds bring such authenticity and life to the space. The star motif appears to now extend throughout the brickwork as well. Hedgings and planters continue to block the refurbishment from the view of guests. Work began last month on the fountain improvements.
Much of the red-hued stonework that defined the pavillion remains as well as the metallic accents.
Other projects throughout the pavillion required more extensive barriers to keep work from interferring with guests as they experience. The Morocco pavillion offers so many unique shops and culinary choices.
Recently, Disney Imagineer Zach Riddley and Walt Disney Imagineering EPCOT Art Director Michael Wells shared a preview of the work being done to revamp the pavillion. They highlighted improvements specifically at one of its signature dining experiences, Spice Road Table.
“Moroccan markets are rich and layered experiences – where shopkeepers take pride in organizing their wares in beautiful, complex compositions of color, texture and form,” Riddley said in a post on Instagram. “Each shop is unique and dense, and it’s that sensory richness that makes visiting these markets so unforgettable”

Make sure to pop by Spice Road Table on your next trip. The restaurant sits on the banks of the World Showcase Lagoon. The hummus fries are quite frankly amazing, especially with the harissa dipping sauce. It’s a perfect place to grab a glass of cold, fruity sangria on a hot EPCOT day.
EPCOT continues to undergo a massive amount of construction in preparation for the Walt Disney World resort’s 50th anniversary celebration. The festivities begin October 1st. EPCOT will introduce a new fireworks spectacular. Also, the theme park welcomes the opening of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in the France Pavillion.
