Jon Bernthal Reportedly Set To Return To The MCU
Marvel has quenched fans’ appetite for new content with the three sensational series, and its expansion of the universe is only beginning. There are rumors that part of that expansion is a former part of the universe as Jon Bernthal is reportedly set to return to the MCU.
Before the days of Marvel’s Disney+ series, the MCU was being expanded upon by a team of Disney creators; partnered with the ultra-successful Netflix.

Using a select Marvel property, these Netflix series would dive into the origins and adventures of certain characters who had limited opportunity to make their way onto the cinematic landscape.
This Netflix series would present fans an opportunity to see the portions of the MCU that Marvel couldn’t fit in three hours, and to do so while also telling the story of some of the best characters that Marvel Comics has to offer.
One such character that the Netflix series shined a light on was the revered Vigilante, Punisher.
One of Marvel’s beloved comic characters, the murderous and sociopathic Frank Castle was an antihero quite unlike any other; as Marvel’s most violent protagonist, fans of the ’90s and into the 2000s relished in Castles’ form of justice.
Punisher did bad things to bad people, and he earned an immense following for this approach to ridding the Nea York streets of villainy.
The role was masterfully taken on by veteran actor Jon Bernthal. The former Walking Dead star, Bernthal was wonderfully able to channel the pure range that so defines a character of Castles mold.

Although Bernthal’s iteration of the character was previously thought to be no more- thanks to the discontinuing of the Netflix and Marvel partnership, and the cancellation of the other Netflix series– this appears to not be the case.
According to the team at Geekosity, Jon Bernthal is reportedly set to return to the MCU!
Marvel apparently has more planned for Bernthal’s Frank Castle; as the character is slated to appear opposite Oscar Isaac in Moon Knight!

A new Marvel series that is currently in production, Moon Knight will apparently see the series lead character go head to head with the Punisher in what has been talked about as the series most violent show yet.
A release date has yet to be announced, but fans can look forward to Moon Knight as a similar Disney+ exclusive, and watch two of Marvel’s most vicious heroes face off!
