My 10 Year Old Son’s Favorite WDW Snacks!
We love Disney snacks! When we visit the Parks the snacks always factor into our plans!
With all the walking we do in the Parks – averaging 8-10 miles a day, we definitely work up an appetite! No one wants to be hangry on vacation so we like to have our snack stops planned out.
Here is a list of my 10-year-old son’s favorite snacks and the ideal time to get them!
Magic Kingdom
If you are coming off a big Mickey waffles breakfast – you may want a snack for a light lunch. We head to the snack cart just at the Adventureland entrance and grab a few of the cheeseburger spring rolls.
The spring rolls have a flaky and crunchy outer layer and warm cheeseburger mixture on the inside that makes them filling.
They come with a “secret sauce” that is mayonnaise-based and seasoned with pickles. Two usually tides us over.
Bonus – These are perfect to wait in line for Pirates of the Caribbean or Splash Mountain with! Portable and not so messy = easy to eat in line. Eating in line (note food is not allowed indoors) helps pass the time. You can then have a fun conversation about all the different versions of this snack you can come up with!
When in need of a sugary pick me up in the afternoon my son wants to head to Gaston’s Tavern for one of the famous Cinnamon rolls!
These are giant! Two people can definitely share this – though best to have that conversation before ordering!
My son loves these served warm. They are light and the dough itself is not overly sweet so it soaks up the frosting well!
We loved these so much, we made them at home! Check out the recipe from MickeyBlog here!
Animal Kingdom
My son was 6 the first time he went on Expedition Everest. He was excited to go but nervous when he heard all the screams (of fun of course!) coming from the ride.
We spotted the amazingly decorated ice cream truck and told him, “If you survive the Yeti – you can get whatever treat you want from that truck.”
He was convinced and had a blast! After the ride, we headed to the Anandapur Ice Cream Truck. When he saw there was a root beer float on the menu – soda AND ice cream in 1 dessert he was excited to try it.
Now it is a family tradition to get a Root beer Float after surviving the Yeti on Expedition Everest and he was able to pass this on to his little sister after her 1st ride too!
Hollywood Studios
If you haven’t been to Galaxy’s Edge yet – know this – the land is PACKED with things to look at and details galore. My son loves to take it all in while he is enjoying an ice-cold glass of green milk!
Blue milk was made famous when Luke Skywalker drinks it in The Last Jedi. I personally go for the blue!
Green milk has flavors of coconut and rice milk mixed with Mandarin orange, passion fruit, grapefruit, and orange blossom. In the films, Luke harvests the green milk from a Thala-Siren while living on the planet Ahch-To in exile.
Blue milk has flavors of Rice Milk, Pineapple Chunks, Coconut, Passion Fruit Flavor, Lime Flavor, and Watermelon. This is also called Bantha milk.
For our combo sweet and salty afternoon snack we head to Rosie’s All American Cafe AFTER Tower of Terror and Rockin’ Roller Coaster – definitely want to make sure these delicious snacks stay down!
There we love to get the Snacking Sandwich Cookie. My son will repeatedly comment “How are these SO good?!”
Those aren’t just any shortbread cookies… They have potato chips mixed in as a key ingredient!
Add that 1 corner is dipped in dark chocolate with pretzels and sea salt with a fluffy marshmallow in between – you have yourself an amazing snack!
My son will tell you this is a “sit down snack” because it does tend to crumble.
We always recommend getting a complimentary cup of ice water when you are ordering snacks. It helps to keep you and the kids hydrated and feeling good at the Parks! This snack might have you a little thirsty at the end.
EPCOT
We love to stay at resorts that have access to the Skyliner. With the Skyliner to EPCOT, we have the opportunity to arrive in France and end our day in France.
EPCOT is also a great place to try new foods at the Festivals. EPCOT hosts the Festival of the Arts, January through February. Next, is the Flower and Garden Festival held March through July and the Food and Wine Festival held July through November.
To end the calendar year EPCOT hosts the International Festival of the Holidays from Thanksgiving through the end of December.
All festivals have several food booths that are tied to the theme of the festival and are popular with guests!
After you have walked around the world showcase (maybe twice!), you have definitely earned yourself a treat! We sometimes stop in Morocco for Sellou.
This is a Moroccan sweet that is made from fried almonds, browned flour, and coated with sesame seeds. This is an easy treat to eat while strolling by the water.
For our official last snack of the night, my son loves to end our adventures with an amazingly rich and creamy ice cream cone from L’Artisan des Glaces.
You can find an array of ice cream and sorbet flavors, and even a macaron ice cream sandwich!
I always get the Caramel fleur de sel. My mouth is watering thinking about it now!
My son always gets to the chocolate. He is working on being a chocolate ice cream connoisseur and loves to compare. This is one of his all-time favorites!
With ice creams in hand, we sit by the fountain and look at the Eiffel Tower. We take this quieter moment to share highlights of the day, laugh about silly things, and just enjoy the moment!
