Jon Landau Teases New ‘Avatar 2’ Underwater Scene
We cannot wait for the much-anticipated sequel to James Cameron’s blockbuster Avatar. What has made us even more excited is new concept art that has just been released for the film.
I noticed the tweet on Jon Landaus Twitter page but it was also on the official Avatar page which you’ll see below.

This image is really worth expanding and taking a closer look at. In stunning detail, we are taken to the Pandora that exists below the seas. At the center of the image is a Na’vi riding some sort of undersea creature.
In the #Avatar sequels, you won’t just return to Pandora — you’ll explore new parts of the world.

James Cameron has been vocal about the fact that Avatar 2 will be largely water-based. In fact, last January, the Avatar Twitter page shared several concept pieces all showing different aspects of a side of Pandora we’ve not quite seen before!

Last year while filming in New Zealand, Cameron teased several underwater shots including the one above where you can see Sigourney Weaver moving through a giant indoor pool that was constructed for the project.
John Landau also previously said that the focus of the second film will be on Jake and Neytiri. They have a child and are forced to leave their home and in doing so explore different areas of Pandora. This includes lots of time around the water.

As MovieWeb tells us, the first Avatar sequel was released back in 2009 and would eventually go on to be the highest grossing film of all time.
