‘Disney’s Broadway Hits’ Coming to Disney+
Music theatre fans rejoice as Disney has just announced that the filming of their 2016 show, Disney Broadway Hits, is coming soon to Disney+!
The incredible show, recorded at the Royal Albert Hall, saw a fantastic cast of some of the world’s most talented singers and musicians join together to deliver a night of some of the most beloved Award-winning songs from Disney on Broadway shows.
The show included vocal performances from incredibly talented names such as Ava Brennan, Shaun Escoffery, Willemijn Verkaik, and Anton Zetterholm; who were playing alongside the fantastic BBC Concert Orchestra, conducted by Keith Lockhart.
The night became an incredible opportunity to celebrate and pay homage to some of the incredible Broadway shows that Disney has developed in the past; that has included some of the most widely beloved songs that Broadway has to offer.
Including some of the Tony And Emmy Award-winning unforgettable classics that have dominated the Broadway stage and nearly defined a generation for musical theatergoers; such as Beauty and the Beast, Aida, The Lion King, Aladdin, Mary Poppins, Tarzan, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
For musical theatre fans, the Disney+ Broadway showcase presents an incredible chance to relive some of their favorite works from some of the wonderful Disney classics that represent the brand’s commitment to these timeless stories and characters.
For Disney fans with little experience in these Broadway iterations can enter again into the world of some of their favorite stories; and enjoy the reimagining of some of the songs they know and love, while also taking the chance to discover new songs that explore these stories in the beautiful ways reserved for the theatre.
Disney Broadway Hits will also act as a tribute of sorts to some of Disney, and the theaters, most talented and accomplished contemporary composers and Lyricists; adored names such as Kristin Anderson-Lopez & Robert Lopez, Alan Menken, Elton John, Tim Rice, Phil Collins as well as Richard & Robert Sherman.
The Broadway extravaganza will be available to stream for Disney+ subscribers this July 2nd!
