Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Officially Closed For Short Refurbishment
For those visiting Magic Kingdom in the days ahead, take note. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad has officially closed to the general public for refurbishment.
As you can see from our pictures from this morning, it’s looking mighty quiet at Big Thunder Mountain.
The area is roped off.
There’s also signage humorously letting guests know that the ride is closed due to a mountain goat infestation!
The image above was taken this morning from disneyworld.com. As you can see, the beloved Magic Kingdom coaster in Frontierland will be shut for just under a week. It is slated to reopen on June 13th.
As of going to print, Disney has not given a reason for the refurbishment though its brevity suggests some minor routine maintenance.
Other Closures at the Magic Kingdom Include:
- Main Street Confectionary – Closed Until fall of 2021 for major refurbishment. Select items available next door at Main Street Cinema.
- The Chapeau – Closed for refurbishment. Reopening TBD.
- Walt Disney World Railroad – Closed until further notice due to TRON coaster construction.
- Hall of Presidents – Closed while Disney gets updates the attraction for current president
- Baby Care Center – Original location off Main Street Location is temporarily closed. Alternate Tomorrowland location available.
This is a story that we will continue to follow closely here at MickeyBlog. We promise to keep you updated on this and any other closures in the days and weeks ahead!
