Former Disney Princess Competing for Miss Scotland
Prior to the pandmic, 25-year-old Claudia Todd lived her dream job as a close “friend” to Princess Aurora at Disneyland Paris for almost a year. Now, she hopes to achieve another dream as she competes in August for the title of Miss Scotland.
About Claudia Todd
Hailing from the village of Bothwell in Lanarkshire, a county to the southeast of Glasgow, Todd made her way to the finals for this year’s competition earlier this month.

Since coronavirus forced Disneyland Paris to close, Todd began a flourishing beauty business in Uddingston, a small town about a mile northwest of Bothwell. She is also a certified skin therapist.
Trained in musical theatre at New College Lanarkshire, Todd’s first professional job was actually at Disneyland Paris after years of modeling and performing. Along with her friendship with the ever-tired Briar Rose, Todd also performed in the daytime parade, Disney Stars on Parade, which is set to be replaced soon.
“It really was the dream. I absolutely loved making children and adults’ dreams come true. There really is no better feeling than that ‘magical Disney hug’ in which the parents would be in total awe to see their children so happy,” Todd told the Daily Record in a recent interview.
Todd also honed her performing skills through a variety of projects with children, including spending three years working with children with disabilities.
Raising Awareness around Sepsis
Through her campaign for the title, Todd will also be raising awareness for a platform very dear to her, The UK Sepsis Trust.
Just three years ago, the stunning and talented Todd found herself suffering from extensive kidney issues that led to the unimaginable for a young and healthy person: sepsis.
“I was so lucky and I am still so grateful to this day for all the help and support I had from our NHS, but also my family and friends. Without them I wouldn’t have found the strength to beat such a threatening condition,” Todd said in the interview.

Four other Lanarkshire county residents made it to the final competition for the title later this summer. Each of them will raise money for their charity of choice throughout the season and compete virtually for the title in August.
So far, Todd raised over £8000, or approximately $11,400 U.S. dollars, for her charity over the past three years as the ambasaddor for the trust.
