Disney’s All-Star Movies, A Best-Kept Secret?
Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort is a Value Resort located on Walt Disney World property. The resort incorporates Disney-themed buildings and pools in order to surround you with Disney magic.
As you may find, Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort has mixed reviews. However, could it be one of Disney World’s best-kept secrets?
Now, let’s review all the details about Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort.
Disney World Resort Offerings
As a Disney World Resort, All-Star Movies immerses you in the magic with close proximity to the parks! Larger-than-life characters include Buzz Lightyear and Woody, Pongo and Perdita, and Herbie: The Love Bug!
In addition, you have a little more added magic at a Disney resort. In fact, Disney World Resort Guests may purchase Magic Bands at a discounted rate; they can also purchase dining plans (when they are available).
Also, you may enjoy more time at the parks by staying at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort. Coming later this year, Disney Resort Guests may enter the parks 30 minutes early as part of The World’s Most Magical Celebration.
Last but not least, you can navigate Disney World property with ease as a Disney World Resort Guest. Free park transportation offerings include buses, boats, The Skyliner, and The Monorail for your convenience.
Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort, however, only offers bus transportation. Although it is a nice benefit, some wish it included additional modes of transportation.
There are several sections that include larger-than-life characters and items. Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort’s sections include The Mighty Ducks, 101 Dalmatians, Fantasia, Herbie: The Love Bug, and Toy Story!
In The Mighty Ducks section, there are giant hockey sticks and duck-shaped hockey masks. Goalie nets surround the stairwells, as well.
The 101 Dalmatians section is home to a 40-foot Pongo and a 35-foot Perdita! Also, look around the outdoor railings and count 99 puppies; that equals 101 with Mom and Dad.
As an added bonus, kids can pretend-play behind a giant TV. Here, kids may perform as their favorite Disney character!
Of course, the Fantasia section centers around Sorcerer Mickey! You will also find giant sorcerer hats, spell books, brooms, and buckets in this section.
Around the exterior of Herbie: The Love Bug, humungous wrenches and screwdrivers engulf the area. Herbie, the famous VW Beetle, is approximately five times his typical size!
So, who doesn’t love the notorious Toy Story characters? Therefore, a gigantic Buzz Lightyear and Woody must be included in the Toy Story section of Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort!
You will find Rex, R.C., Bo Peep, army men, and other toys in Andy’s room, as well!
Recently, Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort completed room renovations in 2019. Now, the rooms are 260 square feet, and they are a nice, updated place to stay.
True, the rooms are among the smallest found on Disney property, but they are also the least expensive! Therefore, you have the luxury of staying at a Disney World Resort without the huge price tag!
Conveniently, the bathrooms include a tub and shower, which is an important feature for families with small children. In addition, there is a sink outside of the bathroom for everyone’s convenience.
As you can see, the rooms include either two queen beds (one of which is a Murphy bed) or one king bed. Also, you will have a small area to store snacks, an area to make tea and coffee, a safe, and a glass-front mini-fridge.
The rooms at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort overlook the parking lot, the courtyard, or the pool area. Keep in mind, all rooms open to exterior hallways.
Food and Snacks
The World Premiere Food Court is a cinema-themed restaurant at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort. World Premiere Food Court serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
It is the perfect place to grab a quick breakfast before a busy morning or a late-night snack after returning from the parks. In fact, you will find some very unique cupcakes!
Conveniently, two pools are found at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort. One pool is in The Mighty Ducks section.
This pool is the quieter, smaller pool, and the perfect place to relax after a hot day in the parks.
The larger pool is in the Fantasia section. This pool features Sorcerer Mickey shooting magical streams of cool water while you swim.
The larger Fantasia pool is located behind the Cinema Hall lobby and food court. It attracts families from around the resort, so it tends to be a little louder.
Under normal circumstances, families enjoy Movies Under the Stars. At night, you can watch Disney films at The Reel Spot located outside of World Premiere Food Court.
Now, do you enjoy exercising while on vacation? If so, you can take a brisk walk or jog around a one-mile trail at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort.
Kids can have fun at the playground as an added bonus! This area is found between the Fantasia and Toy Story sections.
Near the food court, kids play in the Reel Fun Arcade! All sorts of games are here for anyone who enjoys gaming, and the games are appropriate for all ages.
Donald’s Double Feature is the gift shop found right beside the food court in Cinema Hall at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort. Here, you can find apparel, housewares, books, snacks, and more!
So, is Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort for you?
Of course, the lower rates attract most people! After all, it’s not a bad price for receiving all the benefits of a Walt Disney World Resort.
Sometimes, Guests have concerns, since buses are the only form of transportation. On the other hand, buses are still free, and they are a very reliable form of transportation to and from the parks.
The awesome theming and extra, fun opportunities make it a great place for families. All-in-all, Disney’s All-Star Resort is a great choice, because it has some great family offerings for the price!
