Marvel Confirms: Oscar Isaac Is Moon Knight
Star Wars, X-Men Actor Will Star as Marc Spector On Disney+
Well, duh?
That’s exactly what so many of us are thinking tonight as official Marvel accounts confirm Oscar Isaac as playing the titular character of the upcoming Disney Plus series, Moon Knight.
The First Word
Adam B. Vary of Variety reported:
It’s unclear why it took Marvel this long to confirm one of the worst-kept secrets in Hollywood, beyond the studio’s general penchant to make official announcements on its own schedule. In March, “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” star Sebastian Stan even mentioned that Isaac would be starring “Moon Knight” during a virtual press conference for the Disney Plus series, which Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige, also present, didn’t contradict. Regardless, this tweet remains the first official word from the studio.

The Official Word
Later in the day, the amazing Rachel Paige posted to Marvel’s official website:
Oscar Isaac, meet Marc Spector. Posting to Instagram, the actor confirmed his role in the upcoming Disney+ series, Marvel Studios’ Moon Knight, with a glimpse at what he’s been doing for the past few months — diving into comics!
Flanked by a board of Moon Knight images, Isaac writes in his Instagram caption, “WE ARE MOONKNIGHT.”

These are exciting times for superhero fans, and gaining an actor as talented as Isaac is a feather in the cap of Marvel boss Feige, as well as the folks who run Disney+.
But Moon Knight boasts more than one recognizable name.
We Got Company
Ethan Hawke is attached, as is May Calamawy.
Marvel explained, “The Marvel Studios original series for Disney+ centers on the character Marc Spector aka Moon Knight, a complex vigilante who suffers from a dissociative identity disorder. These multiple identities who live inside him are distinct characters in the series and will appear against a backdrop of Egyptian iconography.”
