PHOTOS: Imagineer Shares More Details On Creations Shop Coming to EPCOT
Imagineer Zach Riddley is at it again, he’s taken to Instagram to share more awesome insights with us regarding exciting developments happening at EPCOT!
We previously shared the details that a brand new shop is going to replace MouseGear at EPCOT called the Creations Shop. It will be in the newly re-imagined World Showplace area of the park (previously Future World) and will be adjacent to the NEW Club Cool attraction.
Today Zach shared some more awesome details about the shop and we’re excited to share those details with you!
The Creations Shop with the new World Celebration area of the park offering what Riddley calls and updated “EPCOT aesthetic” that continues to hold true to the ideals and surroundings of the original park.
You can see some of the images above that Riddley shared on his Instagram post. As Imagineers were coming up with the design of the Creations Shop they new that would be working within the structure of an existing building. But in doing so, they found a way to streamline the new facade in a way that would emphasize the vertical columns and give the building a new yet familiar feel.
Yet through the desigs you can see an openness to the shop and neighboring spaces.
I absolutely love the look of the Creation Station Concept above. As Riddley said in his post, since all of the structural elements circle the heart of World Celebration, simplifying them means creating uninterrupted lines drawing your eyes from the front of World Celebration to the front.
These broad open spaces also serve a practical purpose allowing the creative teams to integrate lighting and air conditioning into the space.
