Disney World Is NOW Placing More Than One Party In Skyliner Cars
We’ve yet to pop over to the parks this morning but before we do, I just wanted to share a story with you that is making the rounds this morning. Various sources heading to EPCOT or Hollywood Studios this morning are saying that Disney World cast members are NOW loading more than one party in each Skyliner car. According to our sources this is for small groups only and is being done to short the long waits to get a ride.
As we’ve reported over the last week here at MickeyBlog, Disney World is starting to relax many of its social distancing requirements as more Americans get vaccinated and COVID cases are on the decline.
We’ve shared numerous stories of Disney doing away with their outdoor facemask policy, 6 feet of social distancing rule and temperature checks. Therefore it seems reasonable that Disney would be rethinking their Skyliner strategy especially since complaints about Disney World’s newest mode of transportation seems to be on the rise!
Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen numerous complaints about guests being faced with lines in excess of an hour to board the Skyliner. Above you can see a tweet posted by one visitor just last week.
The social distancing along with Skyliner downtime has created a massive gridlock. Here are some photos taken by our MickeyBlogger earlier this week:
As you can see the lines were getting excessively long with the one party per car rule.
Pairing up smaller parties without overcrowding the cars may just be the change needed to get the Skyliner running more quickly and efficiently with less wait times for guests.
This is a story that we’ll continue to follow closely here at MickeyBlog. Readers are encouraged to keep following along with us for further news and updates.
