New Predator Film Adds Amber Midthunder
Midthunder, perhaps best known from the show Legion, will a the lead in Dan Trachtenberg’s Predator movie…
A few months back, our own Melissa Roden started following the story of a new Predator film, set to come out from 20th Century Studios.
But THIS Predator movie won’t look anything like what we’ve seen previously.
Reports at the time said that the story centers on a Comanche woman who becomes a warrior prior to the upheaval of European conquest. The woman is named Kee, a “truth-teller” who works to overcome gender norms even as she cares for her younger brother, who is destined to lead.
Amber Midthunder Will Play In Predator
Now, our friend Skyler Shuler presents reports from Discussing Film and The Ronin, which moves us closer to confirmation:

Legion star Amber Midthunder is reportedly set to lead 20th Century Studios’ next Predator film, DiscussingFilm has learned. Their report comes just one day after The Ronin spotted director Dan Tractenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane) teasing the project on Instagram, which shows Skulls Blood. Skulls is the working title the Disney-owned studio gave Predator back in January. Midthunder comment with blood droplets, the like was then liked by Tractenberg and 20th Century Studios President. Steve Asbell.

Working Title: Skulls
Tyler reminds us that “Patrick Aison (Kingdom, Treadstone) penned the script for the project. John Davis (Jungle Cruise) and Jhane Myers (Defending the Fire) will produce. Production is expected to kick off in two weeks in Calgary, Canada, and is expected to wrap in late August.”
The original Predator starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Carl Weathers.
Deep in the jungle, several bodies have been discovered skinned and hanging from trees — although who or what could have done this is a mystery. Military covert specialist Dutch (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and his team are called in to eliminate the threat, but once in the heart of the menacing jungle, they discover something far worse than they could ever have imagined — the predator — an alien which has come to earth with cloaking technology, extensive combat skills and a desire to hunt humans for sport.
But, as noted by Trachtenberg, “If it bleeds, we can kill it.”
Finally, hopefully, everyone involved “kills it” as they prepare this Predator reboot.
Are you excited about this upcoming film from 20th Century Studios? Why or why not?
