Quick Tips For Enjoying Disneyland With Small Kids
Disneyland is back Disney Friends and if you’re planning a visit to “The Happiest Place on Earth” with your tiny tots then we’ve got few quick tips to help you get the most out of your visit!
Be sure to follow these nine suggestions and you’re on your way to a magical memorable vacation!
Download the Disneyland app before you go.
If this is your first visit or if it’s been a while since you’ve been, you’ll want to download the Disneyland App before you go! This will be the dashboard for all things related to your vacation package.
Guests can order food, check wait times, register for attraction boarding groups and so much more at the puss of a button!
Research and make your theme park reservations.
In addition to having a valid Disneyland admission tickets guests are also required to book park passes for each day that you plan to visit. If you have one but not the other you will not be able to visit the parks that day. BEFORE you book your Disneyland Vacation package, make sure there is park pass availability for your dates.
You can check the theme park reservation availability calendar here.
One you’ve booked your package, you’ll want to log into the Disneyland app to reserve and confirm the selected parks you plan to be at each day! The earlier you do this, the less chance of disappointment there is as passes have been known to regularly sell out!

Start out with a big – KACHOW!
Go against the grain and choose to start your visit at Disney California Adventure Park! There are so many attractions for little ones to enjoy here. Kids 32″ or taller will love Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree at Cars Land while Toy Story Midway Mania brings the competitive family fun! You can even head under the sea in The Little Mermaid – Ariel’s Undersea Adventure!
Adults with little ones can still ride the thrilling attractions with Rider Switch.
Parents traveling with small kids often feel like they have to miss out on those big thrills but that isn’t the caste. From the Incredicoaster to Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! you can take advantage of Disney’s Rider Switch option.
One adult can wait with the little ones while the rest of the party enjoys the attraction. Once they exit its your turn to ride and their turn to babysit!
Don’t forget the classics.
Sure there are a lot of massive thrills with fast-paced coasters and a trip to Galaxy’s Edge but definitely take time to go back in time with some of Disneyland’s incredible vintage attractions. Rides like Peter Pan’s Flight, Mister Toad’s Wild Ride and Snow Whites enchanted adventure are what makes Disneyland so iconic!
After all, this is the park that Walt bit, so take some time to enjoy his original touches found throughout areas like Fantasyland.
Fuel up.
Bring your appetites Disney friends because there is no shortage of awesome places to grab a bite during your stay! Quick Service restaurants like Red Rose Tavern feature fantastic menu items that adults are sure to love and health Disney entrees for you little ones. Mobile Order is now offered at most quick service dining destinations throughout Disneyland meaning that you can order and pay for your food while you wait in line for your favorite attraction and it will be waiting for you when its time to eat!
Familiarize yourselves with the baby care centers.
For parents with very small children, its a very good idea to familiarize yourselves with the Baby Care Center locations at Disneyland and Disney California Adventures. These comfortable facilities offer helpful amenities to parents with infants and toddlers.
Inside you’ll find nursing rooms, changing rooms, feeding areas, and air conditioning!
Consider getting a PhotoPass+ One Day.
Capture your most memorable Disney moments without having to constantly pull out your mobile phone. The NEW Disney PhotoPass+ One Day gives you unlimited download of images captured by PhotoPass photographers! This could include socially distancing character encounters, group photos and more!
End on a high note!
All Aboard! There’s nothing more delightful then climbing on board a bit of Disney history with the Disneyland Railroad. This original attraction takes you on a picturesque journey (that kids will love) stopping at New Orleans Square and Toontown!
Don’t forget your souvenirs.
You’ll find some pretty amazing shopping down Main Street USA or Buena Vista Street. Shops carry toys, tasty treats, apparel, handbags, jewelry collectors items and so much more! It also a good idea to have a memento or two from your magical getaway!
Avengers assemble!
Before we go, don’t forget that the Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure will start wow-ing guests beginning on June 4th! This includes the new SPIDER-MAN: Webslingers attraction, dining at Pym Test Kitchen and so much more! We’ll be sharing all of the exciting details in the weeks ahead so don’t hesitate to follow along for further news and updates!
