Ultimate Guide to Disney’s Stunning Wilderness Lodge
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is the most stunning of the all the Disney Hotels. It is themed after the Pacific Northwest and has a grand lobby, a working geyser, water fall features, table service and quick service restaurants, and boat transportation to Magic Kingdom.
If you are looking for theme and beauty the Wilderness Lodge is for you.
Wilderness Lodge has 3 sections of the hotel, two Disney Vacation Club Properties (Copper Creek and Boulder Ridge), and the hotel side which is known as Wilderness Lodge.
Since COVID, Boulder Ridge and Copper Creek are the only sections currently open.
The hotel side of Wilderness Lodge is re-opening June 6 with brand new room renovations.
The villa side of the hotel has studios, one bedroom villas, two bedroom villas, grand villas, and Cabins. The hotel side of the resort has traditional hotel rooms and club level rooms.
Wilderness Lodge is considered a Magic Kingdom resort as it is closest to Magic Kingdom and connected via boat transportation. During normal times Wilderness Lodge also has a boat that runs to Fort Wilderness campground area and Contemporary resort, but these are both not running at this time. Wilderness Lodge is connected to the other 3 Disney Parks by bus transportation.
Wilderness Lodge Lobby
The main selling point of Wilderness Lodge is its theme. The lobby is simply stunning. It is one of the most beautiful Disney resorts and is a favorite of many avid Disney fans. It is especially beautiful at Christmas time when it is decorated for the holidays.
Wilderness Lodge is the resort to stay when you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the Disney Parks. Although you are in the heart of the magic you still feel removed due to the serene natural environment.
Wilderness Lodge has two feature pools, the Copper Creek Springs Pool with the water slide and the Boulder Ridge Cove Pool connected to Boulder Ridge Villas. Guests have access to both pools.
Dining at Wilderness Lodge
Wilderness Lodge also has two table service restaurants, Whispering Canyon and Storybook Dining at Artist Point. Artist Point has yet to reopen since COVID.
Artist Point is my new favorite character dining option as its theme and character interaction is so unique (Snow White, the Evil Queen, Grumpy, and Dopey all appear at the dining event). Wilderness Lodge also has a unique outdoor quick service restaurant called Geyser Pointe and a traditional quick service restaurant called Roaring Fork.
The Copper Creek Villa rooms and the new Wilderness Lodge hotel rooms have been recently renovated. They are beautiful and uniquely themed.
The Boulder Ridge Villas are in a separate building than the main hotel but are within walking distance. Copper Creek villas are in the main hotel building.
Transportation Options
If you are looking to have a close proximity to Magic Kingdom and want a unique themed Disney Hotel, Wilderness Lodge is an excellent pick and usually the most economical of the Magic Kingdom resorts.
But unlike the other Magic Kingdom resorts you cannot walk to Magic Kingdom. Wilderness Lodge does provide boat transportation to Magic Kingdom and bus transportation to the other 3 parks.
If you are looking for a beautiful escape from the hustle and bustle of the parks, look no further than a stay at Disney’s beautiful Wilderness Lodge.
