Top 3 Places to Avoid a Rainstorm at Flower and Garden Festival
I’m a Central Florida resident, and I can confirm that temperatures are really starting to heat up down here! We’ve already had a few days in the mid 90’s. With summer bringing warmer temperatures, that means the inevitable daily thunderstorms are coming too!
When you’re out exploring World Showcase during the 2021 Flower and Garden Festival, the LAST thing you want is to be stuck in a downpour with nowhere to go! I’ve complied the best three places to seek shelter while still being able to fully enjoy the Flower and Garden Festival. Let’s get into the rankings!
#3- Akershus Royal Banquet Hall
The once-popular Princess dining location in Norway has been turned into a Relaxation Station!
Although I miss being able to greet Princesses inside, I absolutely love the fact that you are not only invited inside, but are also welcome to take off your mask to relax too!
When you feel the first few drops of rain, grab snack and a cold beer from nearby Flower and Garden Festival kiosks…and head straight into Akershus! Food is allowed inside and it really is the perfect place to relax, take in the gorgeous interior, and enjoy a snack from the Festival!
Until Akershus became a Relaxation Station, only guests with dining reservations were able to gain entry. Now is your chance to check out the gorgeous interior!
#2- The America Pavilion
There is nothing better than snacking your way around the World during an Epcot Festival! When the weather is looking iffy though, there is nothing worse! Luckily, if you find yourself in the America Pavilion, you can stay high and dry while still taking full advantage of the Flower and Garden Festival!
Grab a snack from the Festival booth and take it to a picnic table under the permanent overhang (near the old Kidcot stop) next to the art gallery.
If it’s still raining when you’re finished eating, head into the American Adventure! The Soul of Jazz exhibit is currently showing in the atrium, and there are some super cool Disney props, movie dioramas, and a Louis Armstrong trumpet on display!
You can also check out the Native American exhibit and the many gorgeous paintings in the lobby before heading in to see the next showing of The American Adventure. You really can spend a whole day just exploring America!
#1- World Showplace
Taking the #1 spot on our list is none other than the massive, indoor, air conditioned World Showplace! Not only can you taste items from multiple Flower and Garden Festival booths inside World Showplace, you can hear live music too!
A pianist plays classic Disney instrumentals every day, and an educational display on Disney’s massive horticulture efforts can be explored all while seeking shelter from the rain.
If your Epcot day happens to be a washout, or you just need some shelter from those pesky afternoon thunderstorms, check out one of these relaxing and engaging environments- I guarantee you won’t feel like you’re missing out on anything outside!
