Disney World Will Start Making Safety Protocol Changes Soon
There has been some exciting and positive news coming out of the earnings meeting today for Walt Disney World. Since the CDC announced that masks are no longer recommended for those who are fully vaccinated in all outdoor situations and most indoor environments, Disney World is hinting that some changes may be made to some safety protocols in the upcoming weeks.
Walt Disney World states:
“Today’s guidance from the CDC allowing fully vaccinated individuals to remove masks and the removal of physical distancing requirements is extremely positive news and as soon as is practical we will implement updated guidelines across our businesses.”
It is looking very hopeful that by this summer, masks may not be required at Disney World. We don’t have specifics like dates or situations but this statement from Bob Chapek is promising:
“There’s going to be a lot more comfortable people this summer in Orlando.”
During the earnings call today, it was mentioned that Walt Disney World is currently operating at 35% capacity, but those numbers will be actively increasing as the demand is here and guests want to get back to the magic. Chapek also said we will “see an immediate increase of folks we can admit into our parks.”
Disney has already made some changes to its current safety protocols. The social distancing guidelines went from 6 feet down to 3 feet. I am hopeful with this change and with the park’s capacity increasing, we will start to see more shows, restaurants, and even FastPasses return.
Stay tuned for more details coming out of Disney World!
