BREAKING NEWS: Tusker House, Cape May and Chef Mickey’s Dinner Are Coming Back Soon!
We’ve got some very good news Disney-friends! A trio of your most beloved Disney eateries are going to be opening up SOON at Walt Disney World. This includes Chef Mickey’s (for dinner), Cape May Cafe @ Disney’s Beach Club and my personal favorite Tusker House at Animal Kingdom!
Three cheers for the return of these beloved eateries. Here are the exciting details on each:

Tusker House Restaurant- Summer 2021
I’m going to start with the one that I think will have you the most excited. This guest-favorite character dining spot will reopen this summer. Safari Donald will still be there but guests should expect a modified character experience. The buffet will also be on hiatus as the eatery switches to family style dishes that are inspired by the flavors of Africa.
Disney has advised that more details will be released in the weeks ahead including a brand-new menu. Keep following along with us and we promise to keep you posted.
Cape May Cafe @ Disney’s Beach Club Resort – May 18th
It’s official! Cape May Café at the Beach Club will once again be welcoming back diners starting May 18th. The menu will consist of old favorites and some exciting new changes and the eatery will be open for breakfast and dinner.
Those hoping to experience Minnie’s Beach Bash Character Breakfast or the restaurant’s famous Seafood-and-More Dinner Buffet will have to wait at bit longer as these WILL NOT be available when Cape May reopens. However, there are still some awesome highlights including an All-You-Care-To-Enjoy breakfast menu featuring pastries (including the much-loved cream-filled Lobster Tail) omelets and of course Mickey Waffles.
Dinner will include corn bread, seafood boil and turf platter with steak, chicken and lobster mac and cheese! Reservations will open up for Cape May Cafe on May 7th.
Dinner at Chef Mickey’s – Disney’s Contemporary Resort- May 16th
Last but not least, Chef Mickey’s will be expanding its operating hours and starting May 18th will be open for your evening meal. On the menu will be an all-you-care-to-enjoy family-style dinner that will have socially distanced characters ready for you to snap that selfie. Mickey Mouse and friends will make surprise experiences in the dining rooms and souvenir autographs will also be available for guests to take home.
The dinner menu will include awesome items the whole family is sure to love like “Chef Mickey’s Caesar”, citrus-poached shrimp salad, gnocchi, roasted garlic potato gratin, prime rib, roasted turkey, salmon and more! And let’s not forget dessert- this eatery is known for its after-dinner sweet treats!
Special dishes for kids will include mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, turkey corn do nuggets and more! Bookings for Chef Mickey’s will open up on May 7th.
