Walt Disney World Confirms Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Hotel Will Open in 2022, Debuts New Lightsaber
May the 4th be with you! And, it’s an even more exciting Star Wars Day today at Walt Disney World has just confirmed that the much-anticipated, all-immersive Star Warts: Galactic Hotel will open in 2022!
To announce the opening of the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Hotel in 2022, Disney has given us a sneak peek on what “all-immersive” means.
Did you see that?! That’s just much buzzed about lightsaber Walt Disney Imagineering has designed. And, Guests staying at the all-new Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Hotel beginning in 2022 will be the first to see it in action along so much more magic.
The new lightsaber activating before your eyes is just one of several ways Guests staying at the Hotel will be fully-immersed in the magic of the Star Wars Galaxy during their stay. Be prepared to become one with the world of Star Wars from the second you board the Starcruiser until the moment your journey ends. Everything you do and say from the time you start your adventure will “determine how your personal journey unfolds.”
Guests visiting Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., will be the first to see characters like Rey wield a brand-new, more realistic lightsaber when this first-of-its-kind, two-night vacation experience debuts in 2022. Beginning in 2022, Guests will begin their adventure at the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Terminal in Walt Disney World. It is there you will meet up with other passengers on your journey before you take off to your intergalactic destination.
Be prepared to enter a special Launch Pod and leave all your worries and the “world behind as you make a hyperspace jump to a galaxy far, far away.” In the Launch Pod, you will watch through viewports as you approach the “massive and magnificent” Halcyon Starcruiser.

As the Launch Pad’s airlock slides open, prepare to have your mind blown as you take your first steps in the the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser and see it come to life all around you.
Your stay on the Star Wars: Starcruiser Hotel will be two nights long and during your adventure you will interact with a diverse group of characters old and new. And, wait until you meet the “charismatic captain – a plucky’s ship mechanic and a galactic superstar who can captivate an entire room with the crook of one jewel-encrusted purple Twi’lek finger.

Don’t forget to bring your appetite when you board the Starcruiser! Named after Corellia, the planet that’s known for its shipyards that gave us the Halcyon starcruiser and the Millennium Falcon, the Crown of Corellie DIning Room will be where you break bread with your fellow passengers.
All passengers are invited to the bright and welcome space to enjoy breakfast and lunch and then a “lavish multi-course menu” with options that are out-of-this-world as well as a bit familiar. And, be prepared for a special performance by the captain of the starcruiser! The photo below is the first time we are seeing what the dining room will look like!

With the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser opening in 2022, Guests will also be taught the ancient ways of the lightsaber, learn more in-depth knowledge about the Halcyon starcruiser, and take an excursion to Batuu to enjoy Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
