Tonight’s Astros/Yankees Game Will Be STAR WARS Themed
No one is safe from May the Fourth, not even Major League Baseball. It appears that tonight’s Astros vs. Yankees game will be Star Wars themed in honor of today’s unofficial holiday.
Tuesday Night Baseball on ESPN
The broadcast, which will air on ESPN tonight at 7:05 EST, will include several extra special touches. It is rumored that announcers will dress in Star Wars costumes and fun Star Wars-themed animations will be featured throughout the game.
It’s no surprise that Disney is taking this opportunity to capitalize on both the Star Wars franchise and ESPN, two entities to which they own the rights.
According to CBR.com:
“Lead play-by-play announcer, Karl Ravech, will be dressed as Luke Skywalker, while the two broadcast analysts, Tim Kurkjian and former Major Leaguer Eduardo Perez, will be dressed as Yoda and a Jawa, respectively.”
Regardless of who you’re rooting for tonight, there’s no question that this game will be one to remember. Readers are encouraged to keep following MickeyBlog for more Star Wars and ESPN news.
