Let’s Dive In For A Closer Look at the Pools Aboard The Disney Wish
Today we’ve been sharing with you all of the incredible details of Disney Cruise Line’s latest ship- the Disney Wish and let me just say it’s nothing short of spectacular.
We’ve talked dining, entertainment, kids club and now it’s time to cool off with a look at the Wish’s incredible pool deck.
AquaMouse – Disney’s First Attraction at Sea
Our MickeyBlogger Holly already devoted a full article to the AquaMouse this morning but we simply could not talk about the pool deck without a brief mention! Guests will be immersed in “The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse” cartoon shorts when you board your raft on the first ever attraction to be featured on a Disney Cruise ship. The ride will feature show scenes, lighting, special effects and a few surprises that are sure to delight kids of all ages as you zoom through 760 feet of winding tubes suspended high above the upper decks!
A Half A Dozen Pools
In addition to the AquaMouse, the Pool Deck will feature six pools which as you can see from the image above are located among tiered decks and surrounded by lots of places to lay back and lounge in the sun. Located on decks 11 and 12 midship, the area will offer poolside entertainment through Funnel Vision, a jumbo LED screen that plays Disney Movies, TV shows, sporting events and more! We’re told that the Pool Deck will also offer casual eats and treats for guests to enjoy.
Disney Cruise Line also announced that in addition to the six pools outlined above, guests looking for a more laid back dip will find a second family pool available on deck 14 forward.
Toy Story Splash Zone
Your tiny tots will enjoy splashing around in this Toy Story-themed area designed just for young kids. Inspired by the Disney and Pixar short “Partysaurus Rex”, Disney promises that this will be a “whimsical water wonderland” that recreates the bath scene from the short film. As you can see from the image above it will include a splash zone that features fun elements that represent Woody’s love of the Old West and the intergalactic origins of Buzz Lightyear. Little ones will love the two toddler-sized slides, pop jets, geysers and lots and lots of bubbles!
The area will even feature a family slide dubbed the Slide-a-saurus Rex. This a double-looping waterslide will send guests plunging “down the drain” with the rest of the toys when the bathtub overflows. Other features in this area of the pool deck includes , Trixie’s Falls wading pool, and Wheezy’s Freezies smoothie bar!
Adults-Only Pool Area
Enough about the kids, Let’s talk about the pool area devoted exclusively to you adults! Passengers will enjoy the sun-drenched serenity of the Quiet Cove. This area is dedicated to lounging, sipping and soaking and is set away from the hustle and bustle of family activities. You are sure to love the infinity pool, poolside bar and cafe! This area is devoted exclusively to guests 18 and older and is set in the back of the ship which offers panoramic views of the ocean!
The Cove Bar is an open air lounge where adults can enjoy beer, wine and cocktails any time of day! Or, if coffee is more your style, the Cove Cafe will do the trick offering gourmet coffees, teas and specialty drinks. The café is even inspired by the artistry of Disney’s Moana.
