Disneyland Magic Is Back! See Inside The Parks As Cast Members Return
The magic is officially back at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure! After over 400 days of closure the cast members and community members were once again able to experience the magic of a Disneyland theme park visit ahead of the official opening TOMORROW (April 30th.)
If you’ve been following along with us here at MickeyBlog, you’ll know that Disneyland launched it’s soft opening yesterday (April 28th.) welcoming back employees and local organizations and we’ve got some exciting images that captured the magic of this momentous occasion!

As we reported yesterday, Mickey Mouse was there to officially open up the gates of Disneyland theme park. Disneyland President Ken Potrock has also been a visible presence this week and even took to Instagram to share with us some images from yesterday’s opening! Let’s take a look:

In a piece appearing on Disney Parks Blog, Vice President of Disneyland Park, Kris Theilier had this to say about the reopening, “I’m just so excited and mostly so incredibly proud of the cast.” Theilier continued, “They’ve been putting their heart and soul into preparing and I know the guests are excited, but the cast are even more excited.”
Along these lines, the Instagram post from Disneyland blow put a huge smile on my face. Just check out this incredible footage of dedicated cast members picking up their brand new Disneyland name tags.

We absolutely love the idea of giving Cast Members NEW commemorative nametags as way to celebrate this important reopening!

Potrock provided us with some awesome images of yesterday’s soft opening and we want to give you a bit of context for a few of them. Let’s start with the image below. According to Disney, Christina, who is an entertainment cast member with Disney, was actually the FIRST through the turnstiles yesterday! Hurray!

When asked what it felt like to return to the parks Christina said, “I’m so excited to return to where it all started. Like Walt said, it started with a dream, and what better place to live your dream than Disneyland?” When asked what she was most excited about Christina said, “I’m most looking forward to seeing the castle. It’s just a sight that I know is the best to see at the beginning of the day.”

Above you can see some additional cast members welcoming guests to one of my favorite attractions – Mickey’s Philharmagic!
It’s also worth noting that yesterday’s soft opening wasn’t limited solely to cast members. Disneyland has relationships with several local community organizations who were also invited to return to the magic like Ana Fernandez who is pictured above with her two sons. Organizations invited to the soft opening include the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Anaheim – Cypress and the Anaheim Family YMCA!
Disney also welcomed back healthcare workers to show their thanks for their efforts in combating COVID-19!
