Disney Wish Restaurant 1923 Celebrates Disney History

In case you missed it, Disney premiered a new inside tour of the grand new Disney Wish cruise ship this morning in “Once Upon A Wish”! One of the biggest reveals was the introduction of three new family dining concepts on board this luxurious new ship. Let’s take a look at one that’s sure to thrill Disney history buffs, 1923!

The most sophisticated of the three new themed restaurants,1923 is named after the year The Walt Disney Company was founded. This was the year Walt Disney signed a contract to produce a series of “Alice Comedies”, marking the development of the then-named Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio.

1923 is elegantly themed after this “golden age” of animation and the glamour of old Hollywood in the Roaring 20s.

This classy dining experience features 2 separate dining rooms, aptly named after Walt and Roy Disney. According to this dining synopsis on Disney Cruise Line news, each room features “drawings, props, and other tools of the trade”. History fans will get lost in the evolution of the studio from Steamboat Willie through the present!

Disney promises this classy experience still has a family friendly atmosphere and kid-friendly menu options. The menu is hailed as a “fusion of cultural flavors” with a California flair. Think fresh, earthy tastes with a unique Asian American influence.

Of course, no culinary celebration of California would be complete without a stellar selection of Napa Valley wines!

Disney Cruise Line’s signature rotational dining means guests will travel to 1923 as well as experience the other new themed dining experiences, Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure, and Worlds of Marvel.

The Disney Wish sets sail for her maiden voyage June 9, 2022! Booking begins May 27, 2021 for the general public, earlier if you are a Castaway Club member. We here at MickeyBlog are over the moon excited for this new ship!
