Trader Sam To Run A Lost & Found Shop On Re-Imagined Jungle Cruise
It looks like Trader Sam is no longer dealing in shrunken heads but rather a Lost & Found according to details released by Disney today about the updates being made to Jungle Cruise.
Guests visiting the Magic Kingdom will notice the big change when going around the final bend of the beloved Adventureland attraction. Sam will now be a purveyor of lost goods left behind by travelers during your jungle adventures. You’ll find everything from gramophones to plinth helmets!
In Disney World, the character of Trader Sam was actually named Chief Nam-Mee a reported cousin of the legendary head salesman but for visitors to the Magic Kingdom, the figure above has become synonymous with the legend of Trader Sam. However, this figure has been removed from its original location on the ride.
According to the new storyline for the Jungle Cruise, Alberta Falls (pictured above) who is the new proprietor of the Jungle Navigation Company Ltd. has entrusted Sam with a new Lost & Found location. However, Sam, always looking to make a little bit of money on the side, has repurposed this area as a gift shop!
Below you can see an artist’s rendering of Sam’s new shop. As you can see from the image below, when Sam steps out to procure some new goods for his shop, its the animals that get the last laugh.
We definitely think this newly updated scene keeps the fun humor of the original attraction! And Scott Gustin, took to Twitter this morning to highlight a new detail in the concept art that is definitely worth noting.
and yeah, this has to be the new on-ride photo. pic.twitter.com/2BXdNBlN31

As you can see from a close-up of the image above, it looks like the shop may include a set-up for Jungle Cruise Photo Pass ride photos which would be pretty awesome!
Disney promises more details regarding the reimagining of this attraction soon. Readers are encouraged to keep following along with MickeyBlog for further Disney news and updates.
