Cirque du Soleil’s New Show “Drawn to Life” to Debut This Fall
We finally got some insight into the new Cirque du Soleil Show Drawn to Life which is debuting at Disney Springs. Daniel Lamarre, CEO of Cirque du Soleil said in an interview with the Los Angeles Times that it should open sometime this fall.
“We should be able to open sometime in the fall,” Lamarre told the California newspaper, saying the company was “honored to have the opportunity to do a show with the IP [intellectual property] of Disney.”
Fall at Disney World should be a very busy time due to the 50th anniversary. With new lights and decor on Cinderella Castle and the new attraction Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure opening at Epcot, Fall will be the perfect time to debut Drawn to Life.
The story is driven by 10 incredible acrobatic acts. This includes a Rhythmic Gymnastics group and an aerial pole routine (which you can see in the video below) as well as brand-new animation created by Disney Artists and led by Eric Goldberg who is best known for bringing the Genie from the animated Aladdin to life!
“Our show uses new technologies and art forms to portray the innate physicality of animation,” says Michel Laprise, Show Writer & Director. “During a number of the acts, classic Disney animation sequences come alive via contemporary projections, complementing the spectacular feats of our acrobats.
