Monaco Promoted to Executive Vice President
Disney continues to broaden its approach and outlook, not only in streaming but in advertising.
Today, in an article entitled “Disney Ad Sales Opens Multicultural Unit, Elevates Adam Monaco” Variety reported on a series of new promotions by The Mouse which seems to indicate an even more expansive outlook.
Monaco, previously a senior vice president, will lead most sales for Disney’s news, sports, and linear and streaming kids operations. He will report to [Rita] Ferro.
“Adam has done a tremendous job developing unparalleled relationships with clients and marketers,” said Ferro, in a prepared statement. “Given the scope and size of our portfolio, coupled with the rapid change of our industry, Adam’s leadership in driving transformation will be instrumental in ensuring that we take a unified approach to market, introducing sales strategies that capitalize on our breadth, while developing our exceptional talent across our sales teams.”
In addition, it was announced that Senior VPs Jennifer Donohue and Becca Vodnoy will report to Monaco. Meanwhile, Lauren Benedict has been elevated to senior vice president of addressable sales and Danielle Brown has been named senior vice president, data enablement, and category strategy.
Seeking Specific Audiences

Disney has recently articulated a future that relies more heavily on addressable advertising, or commercials that are sent to specific audiences whose characteristics can be learned through interactive technologies that are part of set-top boxes and broadband.

Finally, Variety reported that Christina Carey Dunleavy joined Disney as vice president, commercial operations, Disney CreativeWorks and Multicultural. Ray Warren joins Dunleavy as a director, multicultural solutions.
“Lauren, Danielle, Christina, and Ray are representative of the diverse leadership talent driving a new way of doing business with Disney Ad Sales that’s addressably-led, fueled by precision targeting and centered around best-in-class multicultural solutions,” said Lisa Valentino, evp, client solutions & addressable entertainment, in a statement.
One wonders what all of this renewal in the ranks will do for the Walt Disney Company.
