Kenobi Series: The Lars’ Homestead Taking Shape?
A familiar hut on Tatooine takes shape….
If there is a more iconic Star Wars location, I can’t think of it.
The Lars homestead — Luke Skywalker’s home on Tatooine, the metaphorical beginning, and end of the Star Wars film saga — is the location I first think of when my brain shifts to a galaxy far, far away.
In fact, just by happenstance, I posted a piece pointing to a study of Tatooine’s “Twin Suns” as seen from Luke’s perch at the Lars’.
Return to the Homestead
And now, thanks to Twitter, we find the most famous spot on Tatooine somewhere in the middle of both “The Saga” and its real-world construction.
Trusted Star Wars maven Noah Outlaw of Kessel Run Transmissions tweeted:
Looks like the Lars Homestead my be being built on this set.
If it is the Lars Homestead then it’s safe to assume this set is for Obi Wan Kenobi. pic.twitter.com/vuPzkdUuHQ

Now, it’s obviously not confirmed, but my detective skills say that the shape does indeed look like the Lars’ home.
Obi-Wan Kenobi’s hut, as pictured in A New Hope also has a dome, but it sits higher and smaller than the iconic entrance to Luke’s childhood home. That said, buildings on Tatooine, as seen in the films, all seem to have a similar shape and look.
Welcome Home to the Lars’
However, I agree with Noah that this looks like THE structure, minus a wall or two and a final coating of stucco. And, of course, that would mean it belongs in Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi.
What does this mean for the series?
Well, not a heck of a lot, other than we will still expect to see Own and Beru (above, as played by Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse, respectively). And, having the building available may allow for some flashback sequences including Hayden Christensen, who has been on the cast list since the rumored inception of the project.
That said, it also could be a random hut, theoretically sitting somewhere on the outskirts of the Dune Sea.

More Leaks to Come?
Looking ahead, and acknowledging that finding Star Wars sets have become a bit of a cottage industry recently, I’d be shocked not to see more coming out of the Kenobi production.
After all, we have seen plenty from Andor.
And, most recently, a video that also seems to be of Tatooine.
Finally, however; there is also the possibility that all of Lucasfilm’s upcoming shows could be visiting and using a physical Tatooine set.
While separated by years on the Star Wars chronology, the myriad series remain close enough to use and reuse sets as they see fit.
Of course, keep it here as we aggregate all the Star Wars news we find on the Holonet.
