Construction Update: Roof Begins at Poly Monorail Station
The sky’s the limit over at the new Polynesian Village Resort Monorail Station.
One of the resort’s biggest draws is the designated Monorail stop, right outside the doors of the Great Ceremonial House. With the station closed since January, altering Monorail access to other resorts and to Epcot, we’ve paid close attention to the refurbishments happening here.
This morning we noticed that the newly redesigned Poly Monorail Station hit a big milestone…the roof is going up!
You can see the new support beams across the track, being attached to the new concrete pillars installed recently.
When our bloggers were on site, two large peaks of the roof were being installed. The aesthetic of the roof nicely compliments the iconic silhouette of the Polynesian Great Ceremonial House roof.
The Polynesian Village Resort is also undergoing Moana-themed room renovations and getting a brand new grand entrance to the Great Ceremonial House.
The resort and its Monorail Station remain closed during these major refurbishments but rooms can be booked as early as July 19! With that date only a little over three months out, we expect to see some big progress at this location as summer arrives!
