CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: Work Continues To Monorail Line At Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
During our visit to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort this afternoon, we here at MickeyBlog thought we’d share some updated construction photos with you!
For those that might be unfamiliar, the Poly is undergoing a HUGE refurbishment right now.
Guest rooms are getting a Moana-themed makeover and work is being done to the main check in building at the Poly know as the Main Ceremonial House.
As a monorail resort, one of the elements that makes this deluxe property so popular with Disney visitors is that it has a monorail stop on the second level of the Main Ceremonial House.
Disney is currently in the process of refurbishing this station as you can see from the images that we are sharing with you.
Once completed, the new monorail stop at the Polynesian will feature a new waiting area and security checkpoint.
Disney is also constructing a new Porte Cochere creating a grander entrance for this Deluxe Resort.
It will include a new fountain and new lighting all in keeping with the Mid-Century Modern-feel of the property.
There’s no word yet on when the bulk of the work to the Main Building is expected to be completing.
However, we do know that guest room bookings have reopened for dates beginning on July 19, 2021.
With that in mind, we expect to really start to see the work to the monorail platform and main check in area be completed over the next couple of months.
