Does Hawkeye Already Have A Spinoff Series Coming?
Stir of Echo? Maybe…
Hold on to your hats, True Believers!
Hawkeye, starring Hailee Steinfeld and Jeremy Renner, won’t even premiere until late this year.
However, the Hollywood trades are already talking about another Marvel show on Disney+, a spinoff of the Hawkeye show centering on another superhero.
Disney+ May Add Another Marvel Show
In an exclusive, Variety’s Jordan Moreau posted:
The “Hawkeye” series at Disney Plus may already be getting a spinoff.
A show centered on Echo, a deaf Native American character who will be played by Alaqua Cox in the “Hawkeye” series, is in the early stages of development for Disney Plus; Variety has learned exclusively from sources. Etan Cohen and Emily Cohen are attached to write and executive produce the show, with a writers’ room recently being assembled. Marvel Studios will produce.
Reps for Marvel Studios declined to comment. Reps for the Cohens did not immediately respond to Variety‘s request for comment.
Who Is Echo?
So who is the “Echo”?
Good question.
I found a video like that:
Okay, so that helps.
And so does this article on Marvel.com.
A Hawkeye Spinoff…
Hawkeye is set to debut later this year with Jeremy Renner reprising his Avengers archer. Hailee Steinfeld stars as Hawkeye’s protege Kate Bishop. Vera Farmiga is her mom Eleanor, Florence Pugh reprises her Black Widow role of assassin Yelena Belova, Fra Fee plays villain clown Kazi, Tony Dalton is Hawkeye’s mentor Jack Duqesne, and Zahn McClarnon is William Lopez, Echo’s dad.
Keep it here, ‘natch. Excelsior!
