More Details Emerge Regarding Guest Who Passed Away After EPCOT Medical Incident On Saturday
If you were following along with us on MickeyBlog this morning you’ll know that we sadly shared the news that paramedics were called to the Spaceship Earth area of EPCOT on Saturday at 8:30pm for a medical emergency. The Orange County Sheriffs department later reported that the guest involved in the incident had passed away.
This is a story that we have been monitoring throughout the day and thanks to the reporting at the Orlando Sentinel we know have a few more details to share with you.
According to the Sentinel, the guest has been identified as 66 year-old Robert Ostrem of West Islip, New York. Ostrem was taken from EPCOT to AdventHealth Celebration Hospital after authorities responded to the call where he was later pronounced dead.
Though Disney has declined to comment the details released from the medical examiner’s office indicate the Ostrem died of natural causes which where the result or pre-existing heart problems.
