Goofy and Max Character Encounter at Pacific Wharf
We thought we’d end the day with some “real characters!”
Yes, that’s right! During our visit to Disney California Adventure for the opening day of A Touch of Disney, we noticed Max hanging out at Pacific Wharf!
Due to social distancing requirements, Disney theme parks are no longer able to do character meet and greets!
As a fun alternative, Disney has come up all sorts of fun “character encounters.”
These feature some of your favorite Disney friends frolicking in fun areas throughout the park!
Like Max going fishing with dear old dad!
As you can see from the images above and to the utter delight of onlookers, Max and Goof enjoyed so hijinks at the Wharf!
It looked like they were getting ready to catch some lunch!
Seeing them on the upper balcony at the Wharf made for some pretty awesome photo ops!
We also managed to catch them more than once during our visit.
At other times, Goofy also came out on his own to entertain the crowds!
You can see him in these images doing a bit of fishing!
And he would occasionally take time to wave to the crowds!
From the image below it looks like he may have spotted the catch of the day!
Or then again, maybe not!
Goofy and Max are just two of the many awesome characters we saw out and about during our visit!
Mickey Mouse would also pop out at various locations throughout Disney California Adventure.
We also spotted Minnie and Daisy!
So if you’re planning on visiting Disney California Adventure either during A Touch of Disney or when the parks officially open on April 30th be on the lookout!
You never know what Disney friends might be just around the corner!
One of our favorite laugh-out-loud moments of the day was when Goofy actually cast his line.
Waited for a few minutes…
And pulled up a rubber chicken!
So though we agree that nothing beats being able to give your favorite characters a big hug during traditional meet and greets, these seemingly random moments still bring a lot of magic!
And we imagine that they’ll be at both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure for the foreseeable future!
