BREAKING NEWS: Disneyland To Reopen on April 30th
We’ve to some exciting news Disney friends! Disney CEO Bob Chapek is currently on CNBC where he just announced that Disneyland will be officially reopening on April 30, 2021!
The reopening will include both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure! However, it should be noted that similar to what we’ve seen at Walt Disney World, capacity will be limited.
Guests will soon be welcomed back to the parks where you can experience unforgettable attractions, see some of your favorite characters and pick up the latest merchandise! And let’s not forget the world-famous food and drink!
Get ready to once again visit A Galaxy Far, Far Away with the reopening of Galaxy’s Edge, experience the thrills of the Incredicoaster and revisit classic attractions like Peter Pan’s Flight. and the newly re-imagined Snow White’s Enchanted Wish!
You’ll also be able take to the highway of Radiator Springs for awesome eats and a ride on Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree.
Though visitors can expect changes to the theme parks in line with CDC guidelines and not ALL Disneyland experiences will be available guests can still enjoy much-loved character experiences on Main Street U.S.A, playful interactions at Pixar Pier and some of your favorite Disney friends popping up in new and exciting ways!
Parades, Nighttime Shows To Open At A Later Date
However, guests can expect experiences that draw large crowds like parades and nighttime spectaculars to be postponed until a later date.
Park Passes Are Coming To Disneyland
The parks will first open at limited capacity to comply with government regulations and requirements so that social distancing can be promoted.
Attendance will be managed through a NEW park pass system (similar to the one currently in use at Walt Disney World.) To enter a park ALL guests will be required to obtain a park pass reservation IN ADDITION TO your theme park ticket. These will be bookable in advance. Park Passes will be required for all guests ages 3 and up!
Initial Attendance Restricted to California Residents Only
Initially theme park reservations will be limited to California Residents ONLY.
A Touch of Disney
In the days leading up to the the opening on April 30th. Disneyland Resort will invite cast members and locals will be among the first theme park guests to visit Disney California Adventure for A Touch of Disney. This limited-time ticketed experience has sold out and will go on as planned from March 18 – April 19th.
Hotels Reopening
Guests will also have the opportunity to stay right in the middle of the magic as the Hotels of Disneyland Resort are prepping to welcome guests once again.
Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will reopen beginning April 29th with limited capacity Disney Vacation Club Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will plan to reopen May 2. Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel and the Disneyland Hotel will reopen at a later date.

A Note About Health & Safety
Just as Downtown Disney and Disneyland Resort reopened with enhanced health and safety measures, changes will be in place at the theme parks and hotels in alignment with guidance from local authorities. This will include physical distancing, enhanced cleanliness and reduced contact.
With that guidance, many factors will determine if/when offerings become available. Cast members will be on hand to walk guests through new procedures!
