Brand New ‘Cruella’ Sneak Preview Released!
A brand new sneak preview of the upcoming Cruella film debuted at the 63rd Grammy Awards, furthering the anticipation for the film’s release in May.
The prequel to the beloved animated classic,1961’s 101 Dalmatians follows Cruella in her younger years trying to make it in the fashion industry.
Emma Stone plays the lead character, known as Estella de Vil in 1970s London, with Emma Thompson playing her hard-to-please boss, Baroness Von Hellman.
The trailer shows Estella should we say, starting from the bottom of the rung, scrubbing floors, and getting walked on (quite literally) before deciding to take a different avenue to success.
Thompson’s character of Baroness Von Hellman can be seen interacting with Estella, prodding her before stating “whether you have the killer instinct is the big question”.
From this point on, Estella takes on the new persona of Cruella and wreaks havoc to make her name be known.
From that interaction, it can be gathered that Von Hellman and Estella’s relationship is strained, to say the least, leading to the protagonist’s bold choices.
The preview saw Cruella interacting with Horace and Jasper, played by Paul Walter Hauser and Joel Fry respectively.
Clearly, the trio had just gotten into some sort of menace, given everyone’s facial expressions, and Cruella’s request to “lighten the mood”.
The clip also shows Cruella’s infamous car, the ‘Panther De Ville’, as she drives the three through the streets of London.
