2020 was a rough year for Broadway, and it appears much more of 2021 will be the same. Disney on Broadway released a statement about it. See below.

The tweet reads:
Today marks a full year since Broadway went dark, so we pause to honor the artists and audiences who long to return to the shows we love.
Thanks for sticking with us – together we will create the magic of live theatre again.
We look forward to safely making our way back.
Disney On Broadway
Disney has been trying to keep some of that magic alive by hosting broadway singers performing from home. During the 2020 National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) and National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) virtual convention attendees where treated to a special performance of the beloved Hercules song “Go the Distance.” Disney has just shared the video as part of #VoicesFromHome. Let’s take a look:
This stunning performance includes the vocal talents of some of Broadway’s best including Jelani Alladin and Krysta Rodriguez from the 2019 Public Works production of “Hercules” as well as Mandy Gonzalez, Rodney Ingram, Michael James Scott and Syndee Winters. This song serves as a wonderful celebration of the incredible talents you’ll find on stage at some of Disney’s much-loved musicals and makes us so excited to see them again on stage in the future.
