BREAKING NEWS: Disneyland Can Open Indoor Dining
Big news for Disneyland tonight!
According to KTLA news in Los Angeles, the state of California has now given 2 million COVID-19 vaccine doses to residents, in particular to those in the most disproportionately-affected areas. This means that thirteen counties in the state, including Los Angeles and Orange counties, can move from the most restrictive purple tier to the red tier in the state’s coded reopening system. That includes Disneyland!
While Disney announced a projected reopening of Disneyland for late April, the red tier was a prerequisite. This move makes it officially possible! Under the red tier, theme parks may open at 15% capacity.
The move to the red tier also allows for each county to permit restaurants to open to indoor dining at 25% capacity or a max of 100 people, whichever is fewer. Other safety precautions such as distancing, ventilation, and masks will also be in effect. Meanwhile, outdoor dining can accommodate up to six people per table from three different households. This is wonderful news for restaurants in Disneyland Park, California Adventure Park and Downtown Disney!
In addition to restaurants and theme parks, retail stores and personal care services can increase capacities to 50% with full-time masking required. This includes Disney’s retail and spa establishments!
“A Touch of Disney,” a dining and shopping event in California Adventure Park, kicks off next week and Downtown Disney already operating outdoor facilities.
No official word from Disney yet on an increase of operations, as this is breaking news in the state of California right now. MickeyBlog will continue to monitor any new announcements from Disney in light of these new developments!
